World Hospice and Palliative Care Day
Just to let you all know that October 8th is World Hospice and Palliative Care Day
“So what”………..I hear some of you say.
Well World Day is about raising awareness of the services available to people who are living with a progressive lfethreatening illness, their families and carers. It is also about raising public awareness of death, dying, grief and loss and to encourage people to talk about death in their families and social circles………..you may well think that this has nothing to do with you…………..but it does.
One day you will die and people close to you will die…………so you’re better off knowing what that means than hiding your head in the sand and ignoring it!
If you want to find out what activities are planned in your country go to the World Day website or if you are in Australia to the Palliative Care Australia site.
If you live in Victoria, there’s activities planned around the state and you can find out about what’s happening near you by visiting the Palliative Care Victoria website
So “Happy World Day” from Dead Serious
