VCE results
This is just a friendly reminder for all the kids out there who are receiving their VCE/Higher School Certificate/High school results today.
This is not a measure of your intelligence or your emotional intelligence OR the effort you put into studying OR your value as a person OR your capacity to contribute to the world!
This score is purely a number………….IT DOES NOT DEFINE YOU!
Remember, Einstein could only get a job as a lowly patent clerk, because his University results were not reflective of his skill and yet he came up with E=MC2………….the Theory of Relativity, on which all subsequent thought on modern physics is built!
Nelson Mandella did not finish school.
Mother Theresa didn’t go to University.
Do a search on google for any famous philanthropist, ground breaking contemporary thinker, philosopher, artist, performer, social activist and you will find that the majority of them did not achieve entry point academic scores. You will find that many of the people you respect…………..you respect for their tenacity. They took disappointments as a motivation to pursue their goals with increased energy and committment.
SO, if your marks aren’t great…………use this disappointment as a MOTIVATOR. Committ yourself to pursuing your dreams with all of your energy. NEVER give up…………rewards come to those who are persistant and patient.
YOU ARE UNIQUE…………….there’s only ONE of you in this world and you have a unique role to play in the future of humanity………………..GO FOR IT and feel good about who your are!

I’m really glad for you Rosanna, well done. I just ask one thing of you………..When you sit down in the lecture theatre on your first day at Uni. filled with anticipation and excitement……….just take one minute to think about all of the kids who weren’t as fortunate as you (despite trying their best) and work really hard for yourself……..and for them.
