You were spot on with your observation that today's youth are coming out of school without the capacity to 'connect with books' - and Cam's horrified reaction is a common one, however I'm not 100% convinced that the alternatives being introduced into the education system, that (perhaps) replace or take priority from books, are a bad thing.

Interactive forms of education - worlds of data projectors, PowerPoint presentations, PDAs, and Internet research - communicate the same information to students but they're also introducing students to the very tools that are so important to the business community - and they're proving to educators that computers and IT have practical applications outside of a "computing studies" classroom.

Somewhat alarmingly (in retrospect), when I heard Cameron talking about throwing out his TV and spending 10% of his income on books, I immediately thought "…but the Internet would take the place of books today" - personally, this has been the case for me - I find the Internet to be a much faster and more relevant resource than a book, and I find it more accessible, more convenient, and more affordable. Perhaps I too have forgotten (or never truly realised) the value of books.

Thanks for taking the time to present this show – I can't wait to hear the rest of the celebration series.

Sorry you're having problems........you are the first one I know of to have this happen,! I've forwarded your comment onto the tech guys at TPN and hopefully they will know what's causing it. In the mean time, dont give up................
I'll post the response when it arrives.

Cheers,
